broccolihart71: I love your videos...would you happen to recommend a water heater storage tank for a stand alone setup for say, a food cart ? I know you've done something similar with one of those blue 5 gallon bottles but, are they rated for 190 degrees long term ? lisa Jordan: if you have a 40 gallon tank ,how many solar panels would i need to heat the water this way ? or would it be better to use a smaller water heater and if so how many solar panels would i need for the smaller one Blue Marble: 1000 watt hot water pre-heater = 10 x 100 watt panel $1200 + dc water heater ($30) + a 20 gallon tank ($400) + misc = $2000, my tankless water heater cost me $170 per year so a saving of $70 per year with a 1000 watt pre-heater will give me a roi of 28 years ! tanks but no tanks. Craig Carman: These can be very versatile. Thanks for the informative and revealing tips. zoran stefanovic: Super inefficient... beteer to to use geo thermo for ambient temprature and solar element heating glycole which in return gets re-circulated by a 12v pump to a heat exchanger in a furnace being pyshed by a furnace fan.. Nomadic Mars: LOL the guy says just get rid of them. "Them" he is referring to is the safety switch. ZWATER1: Ty Craig Smith: So no charge controller needed for the 12 volt elements? so they will take up to 20 volts plus a little more then correct? Larry Norby: can I just drop this 12V element into a 5 gal water container to warm up the water before using the water for shower of sink in my camper? Ballenxj: AWESOME! Thumb up for the info. Hint, get a better microphone for future videos. Great info nevertheless. Ken Bell: I've been using a standard 12 gallon water heater with a 200A relay controlled by the thermostat and fed from a 1500w 38v solar array. It takes shunt loads during the day. Thermostat control voltage is 28vac from an old doorbell transformer. Don't use DC in a W/H thermostat. Simple and works great! Ringo Star: I am building a tropical fish room run on solar, can I use your dc heater with a thermostat to heat a water storage tank to 75 degrees then distribute the warm water to each aquarium Ken J Boyd: Brilliant Jeff, thanks! PrivateEyeToEye: Keeping livestock water / water lines from freezing...consider http://tinyurl.com/y92dakfa zayvier69: Could I just hook this up to my campervan battery bank for energy instead of solar panel direct? Wattsa Donnasaurs: On a larger heater with 2 elements, could you use this for the bottom one and make it a dual heater ?? Also if you got the one with the thermostat do you just hook to the panel or do you need a charge controller ? Just found you and you have so much great info thank you for sharing !!!!!!!!!!!! Bay Drifters: I would like to buy from your company, but the shipping to Canada is much to high . Jim Davis: Hi Jeff. Why couldn't you run 110 off of you inverter? With a thermostat. k h: "You can buy these anywhere for 8 bucks" $19.99 on website. LOL FlatEarther1965: Can you put a 12V deep draw battery in this circut to power the heating element through the night and have the solar panels recharge the battery during the day? id be using a 100 watt solar panel with a 200 wat 12 volt element. |
